Punta Gorda Airport Expansion

Today we are going to talk about the new additions to the Punta Gorda Airport and the implications of the expansion for the local area. In recent articles by Wink News and Gulf Shore Business, plans have been revealed for expansion of multiple areas within the Punta Gorda Airport. First, more terminals, a rental car center and an in-line baggage handling system are being installed. They are also renovating the inside of the terminal to include a Dunkin’ Express stand within the terminal and a Rosati’s Pizza restaurant in the PGD Air Center. According to the Gulf Shore Business article (attached), “The runway-front restaurant is expected to open by April and is being built by franchisee Jordan Lupella who also owns Rosati’s on Daniels Parkway in south Fort Myers.”

So, what does this mean for the local area? Well, there is lots of evidence in Charlotte County that points toward increased expansion. Just to name a few recent examples from our blogs: The Charlotte Sports Park’s multi-million renovation in Port Charlotte, the gorgeous Sunseeker Resort at the Punta Gorda Bridge, and now the Punta Gorda Airport. The clear signs point to population increase; meaning more homes, more business opportunities and general prosperity for the area. If you want to save your spot in the sun, today is a good time to stop by and talk with us about building in the local area or purchasing one of our already built homes.
